With its different adapters, this is an indispensable item for international travel with the Nuvi 270.
It's good quality, and the price is reasonable for what you get. you will need one these kits for charging your Nuvi (although you can rely on the car 12v outlet, we found the unit works best when fully-charged) and especially for travel abroad.
It provides power to charge the internal battery. The adapter is very useful for people who use their Garmin GPS away from a car - hikers or cyclists.
Nothing indicated this AC adapter was included with the Garmin GPS. This adapter comes with the Garmin so I returned it for a refund.
I used for gps couple of times, but more often i charge my trancent mp3 player)) all works.
